Statement

My work is guided by my innate need to be curious. Experimenting with new processes and materials is a big part of my process, and some of my best work has come from sitting down and saying, “let’s just see what happens if I do this.” My main goal as an artist is to surprise people, and the person I love surprising most is myself.

I’m a mixed media artist, and a lot of my work revolves around the idea of sparking joy for myself. Some of my more conceptual work shows repeated themes of the macabre with dark aesthetics, and my favorite works are the ones that are most personal to me. I like to explore feelings of anxiety and depression in some of my more self-reflective work. My favorite topics to revisit are often spiritual and deeply personal.

My work is authentic to me, my interests, and experiences as a woman, a pagan, a nerd, etc. I live by the statement “it’s the little things in life that matter the most,” and I make art with the same philosophy. Often, I find that the most enjoyable part of making something cool is seeing what emotions it evokes in the viewer. I love re-experiencing a feeling or memory from making art, and then again experiencing the feeling of my work through others.
